Dr. Layal Karam, is an Assistant Professor in food safety in the Human Nutrition Department at Qatar University. She holds a PhD and Post-doc focused in food safety & applied food sciences from University of Science and Technology of Lille – France. She acquired international and practical experience through her work for several years as Manager of a Research & Development center with USAID and consultant with UNIDO to assist food industries. Dr. Layal Karam is a food safety Lead Instructor for delivering the FDA-standardized curriculum in accordance with the U.S. FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). She received several awards and has several scientific publications and communications in national & international conferences.
