Houaida Alawieh

Houaida is your go-to expert for food legislation for Arabic speaking markets in the Middle East and North African region, as well as French speaking markets. She provides international support to F&D industries within the Global Regulatory Affairs department at Campden BRI. She uses her expertise in food legislation to create legislation courses, regulatory affairs publications, comparative analysis of food regulations and their impact on the wider industry, among other projects. She served as a witness at the UK government select trade committee to discuss the UK/GCC free trade agreement. Her background goes beyond food law, she’s a food safety specialist with food industry experience in coffee, nuts & kernels, chocolate & confectioneries, and ready-to-eat meals. Houaida graduated from Saint Joseph University of Beirut with a master’s degree in Food Chemistry, Agricultural Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Biochemistry.
